Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis:

CRE8® — Center for Regional Economics—8th District: The role of CRE8® is to provide and facilitate economic analysis of policy issues affecting local, state, and regional economies — particularly those in the 8th Federal Reserve District.

Burgundy Books: The Research Division's Center for Regional Economics—8th District (CRE8®) has begun producing a report for each of the regions surrounding its four offices (St. Louis, Little Rock, Louisville, and Memphis), which provides anecdotal information along with formal economic data. They are released four times per year (schedule).

BERG — 8th District Business and Economics Research Group: BERG is a research forum that includes university-based business and economics research centers in the states of the 8th District.

Regional Economic Development: A journal of local and regional economic development, with particular focus on the Eighth Federal Reserve District.

Regional Economist: A quarterly publication that addresses national and regional economic issues and their impact on the Eighth District.

Bridges: A quarterly publication by the Community Affairs Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The mission of the Community Affairs Office is to support economic growth by promoting community and economic development and fair and equal access to credit.

St. Louis Fed Publications Index: A listing with links and subscription information for all Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis publications.

Federal Reserve Bank of Boston:

Regional Economic Conditions: A listing with links to all of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston's regional publications and webpages.

New England Public Policy Center (NEPPC): a source of quality, objective analysis about policy issues in New England, including economic development, health care, education, housing, land use, energy and the environment.

New England Community Developments: This is the site of the quarterly publication exploring emerging issues in community development and consumer affairs. Each issue also reports on recent events in community development and consumer affairs for each of the six New England states.

Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago:

Consumer & Economic Development Research & Information Center (CEDRIC): CEDRIC's principal mission is to foster research related to consumer and economic development issues such as consumer and small business financial behavior, access to credit, affordable housing, and community development and reinvestment.

Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland:

Regional Research and Data: Analysis, commentary, and data on issues that concern the residents and businesses of the eastern Midwest — Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas:

DataBasics: DataBasics walks you through the essentials of Texas economic data. The articles present numeric operations that economists use to make data more meaningful. The data definitions are descriptions of frequently used Texas economic variables that, taken together, help paint a picture of statewide economic activity.

The Economy in Action: Economists at the Dallas Fed dig deep to provide a full offering of economic statistics and analysis on Texas and the broader economic region. Categories include energy, construction, real estate, immigration, exports, Mexico, and more.

Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City:

Center for the Study of Rural America: The Center focuses on the economic and policy issues that are unique to rural America — and gives these issues the national attention they deserve. The Center produces studies on leading economic topics that will define the future of the people who work and live in rural America.

Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis:

The Region: Quarterly magazine that explores banking and economic policy issues related to Federal Reserve activities and provides information about the Federal Reserve System.

Fedgazette: Bimonthly business and economics newspaper with articles and statistics on Ninth District business conditions.

Federal Reserve Bank of New York:

The Region: Regional Information about the communities within the Second District — including New York State, the 12 northern counties of New Jersey and Fairfield County in Connecticut.

Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia:

Regional Highlights: Quarterly publication that analyzes recent economic activity in the Third Federal Reserve District. Topics include employment, retail spending, manufacturing, and housing activity by state.

Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond:

Regional Conditions: Provides an overview of current economic conditions of the Fifth Federal Reserve District. Includes links to publications by the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.

Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco:

Center for the Study of Innovation and Productivity (CSIP): CSIP seeks to promote a better understanding of innovation and productivity and their links to the performance of national and regional economies and the behavior of firms and labor markets. The website serves as a public resource, providing access to research, analysis, and selected data.

Bureau of Economic Analysis Regional Economic Accounts
The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) makes its Gross State Product, Regional Economic Information System (REIS), and other regional data available on its Web site.

Geography Network
Through the Geography Network, you can access a wide range of geographic content, including live maps, downloadable data, and more advanced services, from hundreds of providers around the U.S. and the globe.

Geospatial and Statistical Data Center, University of Virginia
The University of Virginia's Geospatial and Statistical Data Center provides a query-based system for obtaining a wide variety of federal data by state and area, including REIS, County Business Patterns, and historical Census Data.

Guide to State Statistical Abstracts
This bibliography from an appendix in the Statistical Abstract of the United States includes the most recent statistical abstracts for states published since 1997 plus those that will be issued in late 2005. For some states, a near equivalent has been listed in substitution for, or in addition to, a statistical abstract. All sources contain statistical tables on a variety of subjects for the state as a whole, its component parts, or both. Internet sites also contain statistical data.

Regional Economic Conditions, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
The Regional Economic Conditions site produced by the FDIC is high value added. Not only does it provide access to employment, income, housing, and real estate data for states, counties and metropolitan area, it offers tools to build maps, tables, and charts.

The Association of University Business and Economic Researchers is one of those organizations we suggest everybody get to know.
